Does the threshold energy change with the use of catalyst?

Dear student,
A catalyst lowers the threshold energy for a reaction because a catalyst combines with one of the reactants and then the intermediate formed follows an alternate path with lesser activation energy. It only initiates the reaction without changing the coarse of the reaction and decreases the threshold energy such that the reaction takes place in a less amount of time.
Regards.
