does the value change when we add 0 at the right of decimal point?

Dear Student!

There are two cases which can be seen about adding zeroes to right side of the decimal. As the zero is being added to the right side of the decimal, the left side always remains the same.

Let us understand this with the help of the number 10.1.

Case I: On adding a zero to the right side of decimal before 1 (last digit), we get the resulted number as 10.01. The number 10.01 is different in value from the original number i.e.10.1 as the digit 1 has moved to the hundredth place from the tenth place in the resulted number.

Case II:  On adding a zero to the right of decimal after 1 (last digit), we get the resulted number as 10.10. The number 10.10 is equal in value to the original number i.e.10.1 as the digit 1 is at the tenth place in resulted number to.

Thus, the value of the number may or may not change after adding zero to the right side of the decimal.

Cheers!

10.00....in this case the value does not change

10.01....in this case the value changes...as it becoes..10.001.....but if you write 10.010 then its value is same as 10.01.
