does we need to give temperature to any element to find whether it has free electron or not?

Dear Student, To find if an element has free electrons or not we need to pass electricity through the element. Lets take example of metals if we pass electricity through it the electrons that are free to move will gain some speed. They have a negative charge, so they move in the direction opposite that of the electric field. Since non-metals do not conduct electricity so they don't have free electrons. Hence, we do not need to give temperature to a metal instead of this if we pass electricity through a metal we can find if it has free electrons or not. Regards

No its not compulsory

If electrons doesn't move easily in normal temperature then we should provide temperatures to excited to it electron.
