Draw a line segment AB of length 6.5cm. Find a point P on it such that AP/AB=3/5

Steps:
a. Draw a line segment AB = 6.5 cm
b. Draw an acute angle BAX.
c. Cut the ray AX in eight equal parts A1, A2, A3,A4, A5, A6, A7, A8
d. Join A8B.
e. Draw a line parallel to through A3 which meets AB in P such that AP:PB = 3:5.

 AP/BP = 3/5

AP = 3/5 BP

LET BP = x

THERFORE......... AP + BP = 6.5

                               3/5x + x = 6.5

THERFORE          8/5x = 6.5

                                8x = 32.5

                                 x = 4.065 cm

therfore point P will be at a distance of 4.065 from point B
