Draw a right angle triangle ABC, with AB = 4.5, AC = 7.5 and angle B = 90°. Construct another triangle A'BC' whose corresponding sides are 5/3 times the given triangle. Write the steps of construction also.
Dear Student,
Please find below the solution to the asked query:
We follow these steps to construct triangle from given information :
Step 1 : Draw a line AB = 4.5 cm .
Step 2 : Take any radius ( Less than half of AB ) and center " B " we draw a semicircle that intersect our line AB at " P " . With same radius take center " P " draw an arc that intersect our semicircle at " Q " And with same radius take center " Q " draw an arc that intersect our semicircle at " R " .
Step 3 : With same radius take center " Q " and " R " draw two arcs that intersect each other at " S " .
Step 4 : Join line BS ,and extend it to " T " . we get line LT
Step 5 : Take radius of 7.5 cm and center " A " draw an arc that intersect our line BT at " C " .
Step 6 : Join AC we get our right angle triangle ABC .
Part II : We follow these steps to construct another triangle whose side is times the corresponding sides of given triangle ABC .
Step 1 : Extend line BA to M we get line BM .
Step 2 : Draw a line BN As MBN is any acute angle and draw five equal radius arc on line BN that intersect at X1 . X2 , X3 , X4 and X5 AS :
BX1 = X1 X2 = X2 X3 = X3X4 = X4X5
Step 3 : Join X3 to A and than draw a line from X5 as parallel to X3A that intersect our line BM at A' .
Step 4 : Draw line from A' as parallel to AC that intersect line BT at C' .
We get another triangle A'BC' whose side is times the corresponding sides of given triangle ABC .
Hope this information will clear your doubts about Constructions.
