Since the graph of any linear equation on two variable is a straight line so we need co-ordinates of two points in order to plot the graph. So,
3x + 4y = 12.
at x = 0, y = 3
at y=0, x = 4
So the co-ordinates are (0,3) and (4,0) and thus the intercepts are 3 and 4 on y axis and x axis respectively.
