                                                                                    Growing Materialism
                                                                                        by Sunil/Swati

The blight of materialism has spread in our society and youngsters are the most affected ones. Due to this, there has been a drastic shift in the values of youngsters. They annoy their parents for luxury items like mobile phones, digital cameras, bike etc. for their own personal use even though they don't need them genuinely. The hunger of keeping luxury items has gotten so bad that youngsters continuously provoke their parents to buy these items for them and parents feel under pressure to keep it up with the society.

With the advancement in technology, the desire for luxury items starts developing even at a more elevated speed. When the parents aren't able to support and cope up their children' desires, the youngsters start feeling jealousy, embarrassment and bitterness for their parents. And, this is really bad.

Youngsters should be taught about the values, which don't risk their parent's pocket. Education should focus more on inculcating moral and spiritual values rather than focussing on selfish desires.
