1. Migration  refers to the movement of people from one place to another. There are many factors that can be attributed to migration of people from rural to urban areas:
a. Urban areas
 certainly offer a host of opportunities to people in terms of employment, jobs, lack of job opportunities in rural areas compel people to migrate.
b. Many people are attracted towards big cities for better job future prospects to improve their standard of living.
c. Urban areas offer  better health, education, housing , medical facilities which are generally lacking in rural areas.

 lifestyle, better law and order  and other facilities also leads to migration.
e. Underdevelopment , lack of industries total neglect of backward and remote areas causes migration from rural to urban areas.

2. States of Haryana, Punjab and Western Uttar Pradesh were among the first states in India to adopt and try out modern farming methods

a. Electricity has been a big boon in Palampur.  .
b.  It has  will given  incentive to some people  in Palampur to get some machines and start their small units like that of making jaggery.
c.
Since electricity came early in Palampur, farmers use electric run tube wells to irrigate, this has enabled them to irrigate the entire cultivable area of 200 hectares by mid 70’s.
d. It changed the entire face of region.
e. It rather helped in catering to the water needs of the farmers and helped in enhancing production.
