Heterophylly is the presence of different types of leaves in a plant. The heterophylly is noticed in both the aquatic and land plants, so its function is also varying in accordance with the plant. Some of the example of heterophyllous plants are Limnophila heterophylla, Ranunculus aquatilis, Eucalyptus etc. Limnophila heterophylla, is an aquatic plant having morphologically different type of leaves. The emerged leaves is having broad leaf lamina and the submerged leaves are highly dissected and between these lies the intermediate leaves.
