Electrovalent compounds conduct electricity in molten or aqueous . Explain.

Electrovalent compounds conduct electricity in aqueous or molten state whereas does not conduct electricity in solid state .In order to conduct electricity ,free moving ions are needed .
In solids ,ions or charged particles are closely packed and hence are not free to move. But in aqueous and molten state ions are free to move and hence they conduct electricity.
.
Hope this answer helps.
