Dear student

Correct answer is (D).

When any virus infects the host cell, the capsid wall breaks resulting in the release of genetic material into the host cell. Virus itself does not undergo any changes, it brings changes in host cells.
On entering host cell, the genetic material of virus gets attached with the host genetic material and acquires its machinery to carry out replication.
This increases the number of viruses in the host cell to a large extent.
As a result the wall breaks and all virus particles spread in the host body causing viral infections. In some cases, virus keep on multiplying inside the host cell but do not break the wall and remains inside the host without causing any harm to it.
