My grandmother, who is my favourite, celebrated her 85 th birthday last week. The whole family had planned to throw a huge party for her and it was meant to be a surprise. My uncles and my father saw that a banquet hall was booked for this and they sent out the invitations. The women of the family were responsible  for deciding the menu and order the necessary things. We  took up the job of selecting gifts for grandma and keeping her mind busy elsewhere so that she might not become suspicious of all the secret activities that were going on. The auspicious day arrived and we were all very secretive about the evening. My father said that he has an important meeting and left the house. Both my uncles pretended to go to a friend's wedding.  My aunt told grandma that she has an invitation to a neighbour's anniversary and she wants to take grandma with her.  My mother made sure that grandma got ready very nicely. We just sneaked out of the house and after grandma left with my aunt, all the women folk  quickly got ready and we all reached the venue, separately. My aunt made sure that they were delayed on the way and so by the time they reached we all were already there. When she arrived, my grandma got the biggest surprise of her life and she was in tears. We all celebrated her birthday with so much enthusiasm that she felt much delighted.
