A rational number is a number that can be expressed as a fraction, which basically means a terminating or a repeating decimal or which can be expressed as the quotient of two integers, i.e., a/b, where a and b are both integers and b$\ne$0, for example, the whole number 5 is a rational number because 5 = 5/1; 5 and 1 are integers.

The set of whole numbers is the set of all non-negative integers: {0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, ....,n }

As a consequence, every whole number is rational as it can be expressed as the fraction $\frac{n}{1}$
