In south India the state heads were staunch opponents of the Dalit entry in the temples.There were various petitions filed for the entry but no heed was paid over that.Even the Maharaja declared the whole people of Travancore as untouchables.The ignorance was at it's peak because the entry of Dalits in Temples were considered to be polluters.These people were also prohibited from their religious ritual.In order to fight against this injustice Temple entry movement was launched.
