EXERCISE .4.1
Tick (V) the box if the number is divisible. Put a cross (X) if it is not divisible. The first one is done for you.

Divisibility by 8, 11, 12, 15, 18 and 25

Dear Student,

Please find below the solution to the asked query:

We know :

Divisibility  rule for ' 2 '  : The last digit is even .

Divisibility  rule for ' 3 '  : Sum of the digits must be divisible by 3.

Divisibility  rule for ' 4 '  : The last two digits form a number that is divisible by 4 then given number also divisible by 4 .

Divisibility  rule for ' 5 '  : The last digit is 0 or 5 .

Divisibility  rule for ' 6 '  : It is divisible by 2 and by 3 .

Divisibility  rule for ' 9 '  : Sum of the digits must be divisible by 9 .

Divisibility  rule for ' 10 ' : The last digit is 0.

So,

For number 4554 :

i ) Here , Last digit ' 4' is an even number so ' 4554 ' divisible by 2 .

ii ) Sum of digits = 4 + 5 + 5+ 4 =  18 , That is divisible by ' 3 ' so ' 4554 ' divisible by 3 .

iii ) Last two digit of given number = 54 and that is not divisible by ' 4 ' so ' 4554 ' is not divisible by 4 .

iv ) Last digit  is neither 0 nor 5 so ' 4554 ' is not divisible by 5 .

v ) From ( i ) and  ( ii )  we get that 4554 is divisible by 2 and 3 so ' 4554 ' divisible by 6 .

vi ) Sum of digits = 4 + 5 + 5+ 4 =  18 , That is divisible by ' 9 ' so ' 4554 ' divisible by 9 .

vii ) Last digit is not 0 so ' 4554 ' is not divisible by 10 .
