I) Role of HCl in stomach (basically in the process of digestion) is

1. It makes the environment of stomach acidic which is essential for the function of digestive enzymes of stomach.

2. It helps in the conversion of pepsinogen which is an inactive form into an active form called pepsin.

3. It also kills germs in the food.

II) Gastric Sphincter - It is also known as pyloric sphincter. It controls the release of food from the stomach to small intestine.

Anal Sphincter - 
Anal sphincters are the set of muscles that are under voluntary control, these sphincters keep the anus closed as faeces accumulate there and when pressure rises then the urge to defecate develops and then anal sphincter opens under voluntary control.
