Experts many a times while reading on internet and meritnation blog, I had encountered that a student should not use any huge words, fascinating words while writing answers for english. I amazed because till today I was working smart to make myself comfortable with vocublary.

According to the evidences or meritnation blog, it says that human minds get irritated very easily from the words which are not known for us. And if an examiner is checkng the copy of a student who had written perfect answers but had used fascinating words which are not familiar with examiner, then the chances of getting full marks in that question decreases. Even it may effect his/her mental state which may lead to low marks?

What's your opinion? How should I prepare myself in such a situation?

Dear student,

We can not compare our vocabulary with that of every child possible. What we can do best is to make efforts to write grammatically correct answers as incorrect grammar is the first thing which upsets an examiner. Also, the use of lengthier words is not important but the context in which they are used should be appropriate. Therefor, there is no harm in using simple words. However, you can always read more books and look for difficult words and try to know their meaning and appropriate usage in order to enhance your word bank.
