Sebaceous gland secretes a waxy substance called sebum. These glands are present in the skin all over the body. Excess secretion of sebum increases oil content of the skin. Excess oily skin may give rise to skin problems like acne.


Sweat is secreted by the glands called eccrine gland and apocrine gland. Excess sweating may drain out extra salt and water from the body. This may cause dehydration. We need to drink more water and intake more salt in this situation to avoid salt imbalance in our body.
