The woman shown in above picture is Rani Lakshmibai famously known as Rani of Jhansi.
She was an unusual woman of her time in ways that she was a great warrior and one of the pioneer who fought against Britishers very bravely. She was one of the leaders of Indian rebellion against the British in 1857. She trained her army including both women and male for the fight against British army.She defended her region Jhansi bravely against the invaders and she was the symbol of patriotism and self respect as well.
