Explain a little about Gupta dynasty..

Dear Student,

The Gupta dynasty was established around 320 AD and continued to rule till 543 AD. The Gupta dynasty was founded by Sri Gupta and it rose into prominence during the reign of the most prominent kings such as Chandragupta I and Samudragupta. Chandragupta I acquired the prosperous and fertile region of the Magadha kingodom which became a prominent part of his territory. He assumed the title of Maharajadhiraja. The next important ruler of the Gupta dynasty was Samudragupta who was the son of Chandragupta I and Kumaradevi. He successfully acquired many territories with his military skills and extended the Gupta Empire from Himalayas in the North to Krishna and Godavari rivers in the South. The Allahabad pillar inscription of Samudragupta mentions his military exploits across the country. The Gupta dynasty came to an end due to its weak and unstable rulers which resulted in many small kingdoms disintegrate from the Empire and declare independence.
