  • Adolf Hitler's rise to power began in Germany  in September 1919 when Hitler joined the political party that was  known as the Deutsche Arbeiterpartei. This political party was formed and developed during the post-World War I era. It was anti-Marxist and was opposed to the democratic post-war government of the Weimar Republic and the Treaty of Versailles; and it advocated extreme nationalism and Pan-Germanism as well as virulent anti-Semitism
  • Hitler rose to a place of prominence in the early years of the party. Being one of the best speakers of the party, he told the other members of the party to either make him leader of the party, or, he would never return. He was aided in part by his willingness to use violence in advancing his political objectives and to recruit party members who were willing to do the same.
  • The economic causes also paved for hitler's rise in power as there was a great economic depression in germany during 1929-1930 hitler was considered as a messiah as one whu wud tke them away from poverty and unemployment
  •  In the mid-1920s, the party engaged in electoral battles in which Hitler participated as a speaker and organizer,[3] as well as in street battles and violence between the Rotfrontkämpferbund and the Nazi's Sturmabteilung
  •  Through the late 1920s and early 1930s, the Nazis gathered enough electoral support to become the largest political party in the Reichstag, and Hitler's blend of political acuity, deceptiveness and cunning converted the party's non-majority butplurality status into effective governing power in the ailing Weimar Republic of 1933.

Hitler grew up in an abusive household. emotionally/physically. it seems like he kinda channeled out all his hate and violence out to who ever he declared as a scapegoat or inferior. also to him Germany surrendering, losing and taking the blame for ww1 was a great humiliation to him. he wasn't even German. he was born in Austria. he also won bravery awards.

The following factors were responsible for the rise of Hitler in Germany :

  • Germany’s defeat in the First World War and the abdication of the emperor.
  • The Peace Treaty of Versailles was harsh and humiliating for Germany.
  • The Great Economic Depression that witnessed industrial production to drop by 40%, Workers being paid less and losing their jobs and the peasants suffering heavy losses.
  • The Weimer Constitution had some inherent defects which made it unstable and vulnerable to dictatorship.
