-Their main motive was loyalty to the court and hatred for the French.
-The movement was very intense in Ngu An and Ha Tien province.
-The movement was crushed by the French but it served to inspire people to rise up against the French.

The main objective of this scholar's revolt was to reject the French rule and the spread of Christianity.
