Explain concentration camps set up by hitler
Dear Student,
The following facts have been noted below for your reference:
- Just after Hiter came to power in 1933, he started the formation of several concentration camps to exterminate all his opponents.
- In Auschwitz, Jews were herded into large chambers (800-1200) under the pretense of being disinfected or deloused but instead suffocated to death by releasing the poisonous HCn, Hydrogen Cyanide (released from "Zykon-B") gases.
- Later depending on location and/or time frame, the bodies where either deserted in mass graves or cremated. Often the graves were even not covered.
- Many victims died of diseases they got from poor hygiene and nutrition. Epidemics of typhus and spotted fever were allowed to run unchecked as a means of eliminating prisoners.
- In an event in 1944 several numbers of prisoners were hung at one time. The other prisoners were forced to witness the horrible sight.
- Often the prisoners were brought out of the concentration camps and dictated to dig pits and then they were shot.
- Prisoners were to work in the factories in the weekdays. The heavy toil of work without proper diet often led them to succumb to death.
- Freezing, hand hanging, forced suicides were some other means to exterminate the rivals.
