Concept of Temperature

Dear Student,
Temperature is a physical quantity used to measure the degree of hotness or coldness of a body.  Statistically, it is proportional to the average kinetic energy of its microscopic constituents.
Heat and temperature are not same. If heat is the cause then temperature is one of the results.
