Explain decomposition reaction with help of heat, electricity and sunlight

Dear student, Decomposition reaction is the one in which a single compound breaks down into two or more than two elements or new compounds. Decomposition in presence of heat is called thermal decomposition: CaCO3 -------> CaO + CO2. Decomposition in presence of electricity is called electrolytic decomposition: 2H2O --------> 2H2 + O2. Decomposition in the presence of sunlight is called photodecomposition reaction: 2H2O2 -------> 2H2O + O2. Regards,

A subtance which split into two or more compounds is known as decomposition reaction
Eg : HEAT : caco3 - (gives) cao +co2
ELECTRICITY : h2o -(gives) h2 +o2
SUNLIGHT :agcl-(gives ) ag +cl2
