explain diagonal relationship between carbon and phosphorus

Phosphorus shows properties similar to carbon due to its almost similar electronegativity (Carbon-2.544 and Phosphorus- 2.253).The other similarities with carbon are:

1) Phosphorus gives rise to an extensive series of heterocycles.

2) Phosphorus heterocycles can be strongly delocalized

3) Phosphorus forms strong double and triple bonds like carbon
