explain different steps followed in DNA finger printing technique

Dear Student

As each person differs from the other in their fingerprints, so does their DNA. In fact even identical twins do not have exactly the same DNA sequence. The differences in the DNA exist in the form of stretches of nucleotides with variable sequences called polymorphisms, which show up as different bands on an Agarose gel. Hence the technique of using DNA to identify an individual or to differentiate between two or more individuals on the basis of their DNA sequence is called DNA fingerprinting.
