explain ELISA test in detail
It is Enzyme Linked Immuno- sorbent Assay. This test is used to detect the immune response in the body. It is based on the principle of antigen- antibody interaction.
Infection can be detected by two ways-
Infection can be detected by two ways-
- By the presence of antigens
- By the detection of antibodies that are produced against pathogen.
- ELISA( Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assay) technique is used in the detection of AIDS. ELISA is based on the principle of antigen-antibody interaction. Infection by pathogen can be detected by the presence of antigens (proteins, glycoproteins, etc.) or by detecting the antibodies synthesized against the pathogen.
