Explain how education is still a challenging proposition in India?

Education is the most important component of human capital formation. The government has introduced lots of educational facilities, under its five year plans, still education is a challenging proposition in India due to following reasons:
1. The education facilities are still short of the needs. Despite large expansion, education covers a limited population of the country.
2. The rural populations have less access to education.
3. There is a gender bias in offering education to male and female.
4. The illiteracy rate in states like Bihar and U.P is still high.
5. The cost of education is very high, the competitive pressure force students to opt for private tution to supplement school education.
