Explain how sound produced by a vibrating object reaches your ears. What happens after it enters the ears?

for this its important to know the functioning of the human ears..

as sound can travel thru all the 3 states of matter our outer ear that is pinna first collects the sound vibrations from the air and these vibrations passes thru the the auditory canal here it reaches the ear drum which starts vibrating n 3 bones present in the middle ear i.e.anvil,hammer and stirrup amplifies these vibrations1 finally the amplified sound goes to the inner ear where it gets transferred to the brain through the auditory nerve.its the brain that finally interprets them as sound........

Sound is a type of energy made by vibrations. When any object vibrates, it causes movement in the air particles. These particles bump into the particles close to them, which makes them vibrate too causing them to bump into more air particles. This movement, called sound waves, keeps going until they run out of energy. If your ear is within range of the vibrations, you hear the sound.

Picture a stone thrown into a still body of water. The rings of waves expand indefinitely. The same is true with sound. Irregular repeating sound waves create noise, while regular repeating waves produce musical notes.

When the vibrations are fast, you hear a high note. When the vibrations are slow, it creates a low note. The sound waves in the diagram show the different frequencies for high and low notes.

when an object vibrates , it makes adjacent air molecules vibrate with same frequency. This in turn, transfer their vibrations to the neighbouring molecules and this process goes on.
The Vibrating waves travels from the object to in a similar way where waves are produced in the water by a stone. These vibrations when reach the outer ear(Pinna) and enters into the ear tube and strikes the eardrum which starts vibrating at the same frequency. This produces vibrations in the delicate bones of middle ear. These bones amplify the vibrations and send them to inner ear.The tiny hair cells in the hearing organ of inner ear send  a signal to auditory nerve of our nervous system, which carries the signal to the brain and we can hear the sound
