Explain mutations, mutants,and mutagen.

Dear student,

Our DNA is made up of nucleotide sequences, any change in this sequence due to addition, substitutions, deletion of nucleotides is known as mutation. 

A mutagen is an agent that causes mutation. This mutation can be natural or man-made( physical or chemical). Example: nitrous acid.
The resultant sequence after mutation is known as a mutant. The term mutant is often used to describe organism, strain in which mutation manifested.
