Explain please why generally O- in is present on left side of phospho-di ester bond???Please explain the reason.Because in nucleotide OH is present over there.
Dear student
The phosphate group is a phosphorous atom with four oxygen atoms bonded to it. The phosphorous atom in phosphate has a marked tendency to bond to other oxygen atoms.
There is as such no rule where O- is present.
