Regulators: Organism that have ability maintain constant body temperature irrespective of external temperature. eg. birds nd mamals
Conformers: organism that cannot maintain constant body temperature with respect to the external environment.
The heat gain or loss from the body is the function of body surface area relative to its volume.
Migrate: ability of an organism to move away temporarily from a stressful habitat to a suitable environment.
eg : Migratory bird
Suspend: involves suspension of metabolic activities of organisms during unfavourable conditions. This includes:
- Hibernation - winter sleep eg; polar bear
- Aestivation- summer sleep eg. some snails
- Dipause- suspend their activities or development eg. zooplanktons
