Explain pressure and winds in detail. (In simple words please)
Air pressure is the pressure exerted by the atmosphere on the earth's surface. Air pressure can be either low or high. Low air pressure happens when the temperature is high. This causes the air near the surface of the earth to rise up. This reduces the air pressure on the surface leading to a low pressure zone. High pressure is caused when the temperature is low. Due to the cold, air near the surface of the earth remains there creating high pressure.
Wind is the movement of air. Wind blows from high pressure zones to low pressure zones. In low pressure zones, the amount of air near the surface is low. This attracts air from high pressure zones causing wind.
