explain 'rainwater drips from the trees seeps into the ground.'

page no.-214,ch- 17: the diagram

PLEASE ANSWER ME NOW !!!!

Tall and big trees in the forest have broader leaves and thicker, and longer branches that prevent the rainwater to fall onto forest floor directly as flood may occur if heavy rain is there. So trees let the water seep slowly and fill small rivers and streams to maintain the balance of water in forests . This not only provides the smaller plants the required amount of waterbut also prevents flooding of water.
