Structure of tooth: Tooth comprises of two chief parts:

Crown: It is that part of the tooth which is visible over the gum. Enamel (made of calcium) covers the crown. Beneath the enamel, a layer known as dentin (inner tissue)is present.

Root: It is that part of the gum which is attached to the gum. Cementum is a tissue that covers the root and helps in attachment of gum to the root.

Dental pulp is seen as the central part of tooth. It contains blood vessels and nerves.
