explain the 3 characteristics of old regime

Here are just some listed characteristics of the Old Regime:

1. state in financial ruin
2. new taxes need (to fix economy) but church did not pay because the didn’t register royal decrees
3. peasants took on the tax burden = poorer state
4. further economic crisis due to Louis XVI funding the American War on Independence
5. France was already in debt from prior loans for war = more economic hardship
6. All Louis’s financial advisors resigned…basically because of aristocracy opposition… and the economy was in the pits.
7. Opposition for aristocracy reached height with Charles Alexandre de Calonne’s tax on property and church sales (everyone hated him) – people said the “right of man” was taken away and he started an attack on their freedom
8. A meeting of Estates General, Advisory Body and all others involved in government (nobility, cleargy, commoners) and they discussed how the demographic of the country and economy was resulting in the fiscal crisis
9. Landlords increased the rent but wages were kept at the usual charage and thus… peeple’s savings and money went to crap, taxes weren’t payed, the economy dropped more.
10. Bad harvests in the 1780s killed the economy more…
