Q6. The volume of a given mass of a gas with some marble pieces in the container at 760 mm of Hg pressure is 200 cc. If the pressure is made 1140 mm of Hg, the new volume is 160 cc. Calculate the volume occupied by marble pieces, if the temperature remains constant.

Dear student,
According to BOYLE'S LAW ,
               P1V1 = P2V2
P= 760 mm Hg
P2 = 1140 mm Hg
V1 = 200cc
V2 = ?
                760 * 200 = 1140 * x
                       x = 134 cc
So the volume of the given gas is 134 cc
Hence volume of marble = 160 - 134 cc
                                        =  26cc
Regards
