Explain the cause of global warming. Why is it a warning to mankind?

Global warming is the phenomena in which the average temperature of earth increases due to various causes.
1.The greenhouse gases released by the anthropogenic or human activities mainly carbon dioxide traps the long wave infrared radiation into the atmosphere which increases the earth global temperature.
2.Other causes of global warming can be deforestation because the plants bind the carbon dioxide during the process of photosynthesis and if plants are cut at large rate , the carbon dioxide concentration will go on increasing on earth.
Global warming is a warning to mankind because of the following reasons:
1. the increase in global temperature is leading to the melting of the polar ice caps and glaciers.
2. The melting of polar ice caps in turn will increase the water levels in the rivers and oceans, which may leads to floods.
3. The amount of the fresh water available in form of glaciers will reduce as the fresh water will mix with the oceans and seas after melting.
