explain the concept of twinkling of star and delay of sunset and advanced sunrise in an easy way and also tell that how should we write if it comes in exam ?? no links pls. only expert answers.

Dear student,
No worries, here your query is explained in a manner by which you will get better concept.

The twinkling of stars is explained by the phenomenon called atmospheric refraction. Light from the stars undergoes multiple refractions while passing through the layers of air before reaching an observer's eye. The point source of light (star) appears to be multiple because of deviation of the actual path of light to multiple other paths. This apparent multiple sources of light blink to cause twinkling of stars.

Early sunrise and delayed sunset are also caused due to atmospheric refraction. Just before sunrise, before the sun actually reaches the horizon, the sunlight entering the earth's atmosphere bends to give an illusion of early sunrise. An exactly same phenomenon is responsible for delayed sunset. Sun leaves the horizon but the sunlight entering the earth's atmosphere bends to give an illusion that the sun has not set yet. Hence, we have a delayed sunset.

This is the way you are going to write in your exam.

In simple terms,?twinkling of starsis caused by the passing of light through different layers of a turbulent atmosphere. Most scintillation effects are caused by anomalous refraction caused by small-scale fluctuations in air density usually related to temperature gradients. . . Advanced?sunrise?anddelayed sunset? The?sunrise?is advanced due to atmospheric refraction of sunlight. An observer on the earth sees the sun two minutes before the sun reaches the horizon. ... Hence, the sun is seen before the sun reaches the horizon. Increased atmospheric refraction of sunlight occurs also at the?sunset
