Explain the defense mechanisms evolved in preys to avoid over population of their predators.

Dear student,
The defence mechanism evolved in preys to avoid over population of their predators are as follows:-
1) Camouflage in frogs and chameleon helps them to avoid being detected by predators
2) Monarch butterfly becomes distasteful to predator because they releases some chemicals which makes it distasteful.
3) Some plants evolve to avoid predation by developing thorns which prevent them from being eaten.
4) Some plants produces poisonous chemicals like glycosides, caffeine etc. to avoid predation.
5) Prey mimicks an animal which is dangerous to the predator and thus avoid being eaten.
