1. The given line indicates the character of Mrs. Bramble. Her world was built around her husband and son. Therefore, she is referred as a domestic creature.

2. The word decorous signifies the good manners of Harold who closes the door softly while leaving the house.

3. The word distasteful highlights that both the parents were unhappy with the decision to hide Mr. Bramble's profession from their son. But, they were forced to do so as per the demand of the situation.

4. Harold was a model child. He had all the good qualities in him such as good behavior, good manners and intelligence.

5. After expressing  his opinion about keeping Mr. Bramble's profession a secret from Harold, Major Percy also remarked on bad quality of the wrestlers. It is ironic that he makes these comments while sitting and enjoying food at his (Mr Bramble's) house. However, such behaviour is not unlike him because he was blabbermouthed.
