Explain the following stages with labelled dia.
1. diplotene stage
2. diakinesis stage

Dear student,
Diplotene stage :- Synaptic attraction decreases and the bivalent of both the homologous chromosome seemed to be attached at points called chiasma. In late diplotene stage chiasma appears to move to the end of homologous chromosome.

Diakinesis stage:- Due to condensation bivalent chromosome becomes thicker and shorter. Loops between chiasmata are at 90 degree to each other.
