Explain the importance of biodiversity hot-spots and sacred groves.  ​

Dear student,
Following are the importance of biodiversity hotspot and sacred grooves:-
1) It maintains the balance in the ecosystem:- It helps in recycling and storing nutrients, it minimises pollution, it prevents soil erosion, maintains climate etc.
2) It is an open source of biological resources:- It provides medicines, food for plant and animals, wood products etc
3) It is a site of social benefits:- It is a place of education, research, tourist destinations and cultural importance etc.
4) Sacred grooves are the region of religious importance which help in conservation of threatened and rare plants which have become extinct in other places but due to religious importance these plants are conserved.
