Explain the improvement made by the Indian Railways in its functioning.

The improvements made by India railway and it's functioning are given below:

1. Steam engines- These are now replaced by diesel and electric engines.
2. E-ticket - Electronic- tickets and I- tickets facilities are available.
3. Conversion of metre and narrow gauges into broad gauges. 
4. Extension of rail routes. It has made travelling really easy as now you can cover maximum distance through railways.
5. Better facilities of restrooms and waiting area on railway platforms . 
6. The introduction of mono and metro rails in many metropolitan cities has made travelling chap and easy within a city also.
