In this, Calpurnia is referring to someone whom she overheard. She hears them recount horrifying incidents, like wars fought in the sky, the lioness that whelped in the street, ghosts screaming. She says that she normally does not believe in such things, but since she had a dream, and someone else is also talking about it, she is now scared.
