Explain the rainbow formation with the help of a diagram.(5mark)
Hi,
Formation of Rainbow:-
rainbow formation is the example for the atmospheric dispersion of light.
When the sunlight undergoes dispersion by the tiny droplets of water present in the atmosphere a rainbow is formed.
NECESSARY CONDITIONS FOR THE FORMATION OF RAINBOW.
1]There should be tiny droplets of water in the atmosphere [drizzling of water]
2]Sun should be behind the observer,
In fact , three different phenomenon takes places during the formation of rainbow .There are:-
1]Refraction
2]Dispersion
3] Total Internal Reflection
HOPE IT MAY HELP U .
