explain the secondary growth
Hi Nayan,
Primary growth is the growth of the root and the stem lengthwise. This is brought about by the apical meristem while secondary growth is the increase in girth exhibited by most dicot plants. The tissues involved in secondary growth are collectively known as lateral meristems. Lateral meristems consist of vascular cambium and cork cambium. For further information on secondary growth, kindly refer to lesson 6; Chapter 6.
