EXPLAIN THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE INDIAN CITIZENS RIGHT TO EQUALITY.

a.Right to equality-  This right ensures that everybody is equal before law, no person is above the law of the land. Law will not discriminate anyone on the basis of caste, creed, religion or sex.The government shall not discriminate against any citizen on grounds only of religion, race, caste, sex or place of birth. Every citizen shall have access to public places like shops, restaurants, hotels, and cinema halls.All citizens have equality of opportunity .

b.. All citizens have equality of opportunity in matters relating to employment or appointment to any position in the government.

c..  It also abolishes of untouchability.

d.The above are the basic minimum assurances which the Constitution has ensured to all.

e. This right to equality provides legal safeguard and basis for people to fight agaisnt discrimination.

f. This right lays down the basis of a democratic society.

g. It also prevents tyranny of majority and possible domination of majority .

h. It protects the rights of the minorities.
