Explain the statement 'Tissues exhibit division of labour'.Give examples.

Cells of different tissues are differentiated to carry out specific activities. This shows that tissues exhibit division of labor. A good example being various types of tissues in the plant kingdom like meristematic which divides to produce new cells, vascular which conducts food, water and minerals, epithelium which is protective in function. Each of these tissues have cells which are modified to carry out specific activities.
